RediCare Okemos is proud to be one of the area’s only Test To Treat facilities. The Test to Treat program is a nationwide initiative to ensure rapid access to no-cost COVID-19 oral antiviral medications that can help reduce the risk of hospitalization.
At Test to Treat sites like RediCare Okemos, you can get tested for COVID-19 and be assessed by a qualified healthcare provider. If you test positive and are eligible, you may receive a prescription to take to a designated pharmacy close to the testing location or you may receive medication directly from the Test to Treat site.
We believe in end-to-end patient care. We don’t just test for and diagnose COVID19, we guide our patients through the entirety of the coronavirus infection with testing and treatment available in under one hour.
Our clinicians will monitor your condition throughout your recovery process with simple texting methods. We care about your recovery and can continue to monitor your condition with the assistance of our sister practice, Grand River Family Care. If symptoms are mild, we typically treat this as a common viral illness and treat it symptomatically.
We can provide more advanced care with a variety of medications and treatment modalities, if more severe. We can provide respiratory medications to keep your airways open and alleviate other symptoms or manage evolving complications. When necessary, we can provide access to FDA EUA currently approved antiviral therapy or monoclonal antibodies as noted below.
As much as possible, stay in a specific room and away from other people and pets in your home. If possible, you should use a separate bathroom. If you need to be around other people or animals in or outside of the home, wear a mask.
Tell your close contacts that they may have been exposed to COVID-19. An infected person can spread COVID-19 starting 48 hours (or 2 days) before the person has any symptoms or tests positive. By letting your close contacts know they may have been exposed to COVID-19, you are helping to protect everyone.
Key symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, chest pain and shortness of breath but can include other symptoms.
